About

The Diocese of Milwaukee was established in 1843 under first bishop John Martin Henni and was elevated to an archdiocese in 1875. Its mother church, the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, was consecrated in 1853 and rededicated in 2001 after renovation. The archdiocese's administrative headquarters, the Cousins Catholic Center, is located in the suburb of St. Francis.
