Baiyun Guan, the White Cloud Temple, is one of the three ancestral courts of the Quanzhen school of Taoism. A temple has stood on the site since the Tang dynasty and the present foundation dates from 1228. It is the seat of the Chinese Taoist Association and remains a working temple with resident clergy, a full ritual calendar and a spring festival that draws crowds from across Beijing.
