Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa is the founding congregation of the Calvary Chapel movement, established under Pastor Chuck Smith beginning in 1965. Though named for Costa Mesa, its campus is located in Santa Ana, California. The congregation was central to the growth of the Jesus movement of the late 1960s and 1970s and remains one of the movement's flagship churches.
