The cathedral parish of Jakarta, formally the church of Saint Mary of the Assumption, is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Jakarta. The neo gothic building was consecrated in 1901 after an earlier church on the site collapsed. It faces Masjid Istiqlal across Lapangan Banteng, and the two congregations share parking on each other's major festivals. The parish secretariat keeps weekday and Saturday hours and the church holds a full schedule of Sunday and weekday Mass.
