The Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of California is the governing body of Masonic lodges throughout California, chartered in 1850. Its headquarters, the California Masonic Memorial Temple on San Francisco's Nob Hill, opened in 1958 and houses a 3,000-seat auditorium, the Henry Wilson Coil Museum and Library of Freemasonry, and the Grand Lodge's administrative offices. The jurisdiction has roughly 330 lodges and 40,000 members statewide.
