The MAS Youth Center, on Bath Avenue in Brooklyn, opened in 2001-2002 as a project of the Muslim American Society and is described on its own site as "The First Muslim Youth Center in America." It is one of seven Muslim American Society of New York centers and serves as a logistical and social hub for the Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, and Bensonhurst Muslim community, offering sports programs, camps, mentorship, academic classes, and Friday prayers that draw hundreds of congregants.
