The Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica are a Benedictine women's monastery in Atchison, Kansas, founded on November 11, 1863, when Mother Evangelista Kremmeter and six sisters arrived from Minnesota at the invitation of a local priest. The community founded Mount St. Scholastica College, which merged with St. Benedict's College in 1971 to form Benedictine College. The sisters continue a ministry of prayer, hospitality, and education from their Atchison monastery.
