The Theosophical Society in America is the U.S. section of the international Theosophical Society, founded in 1875 by Helena Blavatsky, Henry Steel Olcott, and William Quan Judge. It promotes comparative study of religion, philosophy, and science, and operates the Olcott Estate headquarters in Wheaton, Illinois, which includes a library and study center open to the public. The society requires no members to accept any particular set of beliefs.
