Numerology's Three Facts Are One Fabricated Pedigree
Numerology carries three debated-or-debunked facts in this atlas, all under the single property attributed-author, all debunked. Read together they are not three separate findings but one, told from three angles.
One Claim, Undone Three Ways
The first states the claim as it is popularly made: numerology is traditionally ascribed to Pythagoras of Samos. The second states what the historical record actually holds: no surviving Pythagorean or Neopythagorean text teaches the modern name-and-birthdate system. The third names what the claim actually is: the Pythagorean pedigree is part of the genealogy Western esotericism constructed for itself, and the practice as taught today is a nineteenth and twentieth century construction. Three property rows, one honest finding: the ancient name attached to numerology is a borrowed authority rather than a traceable inheritance.
