Colette Baron-Reid frames her recovery, not her recording contract, as the real foundation of her later career. She entered recovery from alcohol and cocaine addiction around 1986, and by her own account has maintained thirty nine years of continuous sobriety since, a span that covers essentially her entire transition from touring musician to television host and oracle deck publisher. Where her first years after recovery involved aromatherapy work and informal readings based on visions she described experiencing, the decades that followed built into a structured teaching practice rather than only a publishing one.
She founded The Oracle School Experience, a training program for readers working with oracle cards, alongside OraclePalooza and the DreamQuest Platinum Mastermind, extending her work from selling decks toward certifying and coaching the people who use them, a step beyond what most of her fellow Hay House oracle authors have built. She hosts the television program Messages From Spirit on Amazon Prime and YouTube, carrying the same televised reading format she first developed for Dr. Phil, The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Dr. Oz Show appearances into an ongoing show she runs herself rather than appears as a guest on.
