Mark Master's Guild Symbolism, The Personal Mark

The central publicly documented symbol of Mark Master is the personal mark itself: a mason's individual device, cut into finished stone as a signature of workmanship, a practice attested in the surviving documentary and archaeological record of medieval and early modern building guilds well before speculative Freemasonry existed.
