Guidance Reached Two Different Ways
Numerology Guidance Cards is a forty four card deck numerologist Michelle Buchanan created for Hay House, published in 2013, before her further Hay House title, the Numerology Guidebook and its companion course two years later. Its organizing system keys each card to a number and its associated numerological meaning, but unlike most oracle decks, which are read only by drawing a card at random, this deck can also be consulted by calculating a personal number, derived from a name or birth date under Buchanan's Western Pythagorean method, and finding the card that matches it directly.
That dual access, a reader can either draw a card intuitively or calculate a specific number to find its matching guidance, distinguishes Numerology Guidance Cards structurally from decks such as Doreen Virtue's Goddess Guidance or Kyle Gray's Angel Prayers, which offer no equivalent calculation based route to a specific card. Numerology itself assigns meaning to numbers derived from names and dates, a practice with no basis in mathematics or science beyond the arithmetic used to calculate the numbers, and Buchanan's guidebook presents the deck consistently as a self development and reflection tool rather than as an empirically demonstrated system.
