From Self Published Editions to One Unified Deck

Patch Tarot is a modern seventy eight card deck created by Jordan River, founder of the Spirit Science media platform, layering an added astral signature onto each card that keys it to a planet, sign, element or Qabalistic path over a Rider Waite Smith derived structure. Earlier self published editions of varying card counts circulated through the 2010s before Schiffer Publishing's REDFeather imprint issued a unified seventy eight card trade edition with guidebook, bringing River's independently produced deck into the same standard count nearly every other deck in this catalogue uses.

That path, self published editions of shifting size settling into one fixed trade edition from an established publisher, mirrors The Wild Unknown Tarot's own move from Kim Krans's hand drawn self published deck to HarperOne's official box set, though Patch Tarot's added esoteric correspondences printed directly on the cards remain unique to it within the catalogue. Read upright and reversed, the deck uses its printed astral signature as an extra interpretive layer alongside the standard Rider Waite Smith derived meanings rather than replacing them, letting a reader draw on planetary, zodiacal, elemental or Qabalistic correspondence without consulting a separate reference.
