Red Moon in the Dreamspell Scheme

Red Moon is the ninth Solar Seal, red and of the east in Arguelles's rotation. Its stated triad is universal water as its power, purification as its action and flow as its essence, and it is read in Dreamspell practice for cleansing, for emotional flow and for the water element. It stands fourth in the second wavespell. The seal is among those the Dreamspell literature associates with the body and with health, alongside Red Serpent and Blue Hand.

In the Dreamspell tradition, Red Moon, Solar Seal 9, is described as governing universal water, purification and emotional flow, built from Muluc's borrowed water imagery reframed under a lunar name of Arguelles's choosing. Red Moon belongs to the Dreamspell's Red colour family, alongside Red Dragon, Red Serpent, Red Skywalker and Red Earth. The lunar association is Arguelles's own addition; Muluc's Tzolk'in imagery centres on water and offering rather than on the moon specifically. Its Dreamspell wavespell is the ninth of twenty. The lunar framing Arguelles gives this seal has no basis in Muluc's own Tzolk'in imagery of water and ritual offering, and readers who encounter Red Moon as a Dreamspell term should not assume it reflects any attested Maya lunar calendar; the Maya tracked the moon separately, through lunar-series notations recorded alongside Long Count dates in Classic inscriptions, an entirely different and genuinely ancient body of astronomical record.
