Congregation Bnai Yosef is a Sephardic Orthodox synagogue in the Gravesend/Ocean Parkway area of Brooklyn, New York, serving a congregation drawn mainly from the Syrian, North African, and Iranian Jewish communities. Built around 1973 and known locally as "The Painted Shul" for its extensively muraled 13,000-square-foot sanctuary, it holds more than thirty prayer services daily and is funded so that members are not required to pay dues.
