Congregation Mikveh Israel is a Sephardic Orthodox Jewish congregation in Philadelphia, founded in 1740 and the oldest formal Jewish congregation in the city. It follows the Spanish-Portuguese (Western Sephardic) liturgical rite and is known for its historic ties to the American founding era; its current sanctuary opened in 1976 near Independence National Historical Park.
