Midwest Buddhist Temple is a Jodo Shinshu temple in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood, founded in 1944 by Rev. Gyodo Kono to serve Japanese Americans resettling in Chicago after World War II incarceration. A member of the Buddhist Churches of America, the temple holds Sunday services and dharma school and hosts the annual Ginza Holiday summer cultural festival. It serves the Chicago-area Japanese American Buddhist community.
