The Centzon Totochtin, the Four Hundred Rabbits, are a multitude of Aztec deities personifying the many different effects and personalities of intoxication brought on by pulque, the fermented drink of the maguey plant. They are named as the children of the maguey goddess Mayahuel and the pulque god Patecatl. Four hundred (centzontli in Nahuatl) is a conventional figure of speech for an innumerable multitude in Nahuatl idiom, not a literal count of individual gods.
