Zurchol Among the Twelve Kings

Zurchol is one of the twelve Zodiacal Kings of Liber Scientiae, Auxilii et Victoriae Terrestris, the tabulation John Dee compiled from his angelic sessions with Edward Kelley in 1584 and 1585. The ninety-one Parts of the Earth, the Enochian Governors, are shared in that manuscript among twelve Kings, one to a tribe of Israel. Zurchol governs the tribe of Simeon and holds five Parts.

Zurchol's Parts are Usnarda, the second Part of ICH, the eleventh Aethyr, assigned to Graecia, Greece; Tapamal, opening LOE, the twelfth; Vixpalg, completing ASP, the twenty-first, assigned to Comaginen, the small kingdom of Commagene; Oxlopar, completing BAG, the twenty-eighth, assigned to Metagonitidim, from Metagonitis on the North African coast; and Doxmael, the ninety-first and very last of the Parts of the Earth in the whole tabulation, closing TEX, the thirtieth and innermost Aethyr, and assigned to Mauritania.

Zurchol's zodiac sign, like every King's, is a reconstruction later practitioners set over the tribe of Simeon, since Dee's own sessions record tribes and give no rule for deriving a sign, and rival modern schemes disagree. Zurchol is distinct from the seven Kings of the Heptarchia, an unrelated weekday system recorded separately in De Heptarchia Mystica.
