Unjami, also called Ungami, is an annual Ryukyuan religious festival held in the seventh lunar month in communities including Shioya and Iheya, giving thanks toward the sea for the harvest and safety of the community. It is conducted under noro leadership, one of the calendar rites that keeps utaki worship a living yearly practice rather than a historical description of one.
