The Orkhon inscriptions and Chinese Tang era records document his genealogy, birth name, year of birth and campaigns in detail, but no surviving text ties his birth to a place; a nomadic steppe khaganate kept no fixed birth records tied to a settlement.
What would resolve this A steppe or Chinese record naming a specific birth site, which the Orkhon inscriptions and Tang annals alike do not supply.
