Harold Camping's own biblically calculated prediction, promoted heavily by his Family Radio broadcasting network, that the Rapture would occur on May 21, 2011, followed by the final destruction of the world on October 21, 2011, following an earlier, unfulfilled date Camping had set for 1994.

When May 21, 2011 passed without event, Camping first stated publicly that an invisible, spiritual judgment had occurred that day and that the physical end would still arrive on October 21. When October 21 also passed without event, Camping acknowledged in the following months that his prediction had been wrong, and Family Radio subsequently posted its own public statement acknowledging that setting specific dates had been a mistake that should not be repeated. Camping suffered a stroke shortly after the failed October date and made no further specific predictions before his death in 2013. 2

Claimed FulfillmentSourced to the subject's own account
The Rapture of believers into heaven on May 21, 2011, followed by the physical end of the world on October 21, 2011. Neither the Rapture nor any global catastrophe was reported on either date by any independent news organization, government body or seismic monitoring service anywhere in the world, and Camping himself, in a statement broadcast on Family Radio shortly after October 21 passed without event, acknowledged that the outcome he had predicted did not occur. 1
