A small silver pendant of Amun in his combined form with the sun god as Amun-Re, plated in gold, made in the Third Intermediate Period of ancient Egypt, circa 1070 to 730 BC, and held by the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore under accession number 57.1417. The figure stands 7.8 centimeters tall, wearing a divine shendyt kilt, a broad collar and the double feather crown set over a sun disk, the standard regalia by which Amun-Re was recognized. A loop on the reverse shows it was made to be worn as jewelry. Recorded provenance traces the pendant from a find near Zagazig in Lower Egypt, through the Dikran Kelekian collection, to its 1925 purchase by Henry Walters and its 1931 bequest to the museum that bears his name.

Devotional Function
The loop on the reverse marks this as a personal amulet rather than a temple furnishing: it was worn against the body so that its owner carried the combined protection of Amun's hidden power and Re's solar authority with them day to day, the private, portable counterpart to the same god's public temple cult. 1
