An engraved portrait of Jonathan Edwards, the Congregational minister and theologian of colonial Northampton, made by Abner Reed in 1808, decades after Edwards's own lifetime. Edwards is remembered for his account of the 1734 to 1735 Northampton revival and for a body of work on religious experience, the will and the beauty of God. Held today by the Art Institute of Chicago.
