An Astrological Mandala

Dane Rudhyar was an astrologer and composer who developed what became known as humanistic astrology, and this book is his own presentation of degree by degree symbolic meanings for the astrological wheel, a system of correspondences he devised himself. As with other primary works in which a practitioner sets out an astrological technique of his own invention and presents it as a coherent symbolic system, the atlas holds it at the tier appropriate to that kind of source rather than to independent verification, since no outside test of the symbols' validity is offered in the book itself. Its value is as the clearest primary statement of Rudhyar's own influential system in his own words, documenting a real and lasting strand of twentieth century astrological practice rather than evidence the symbols describe anything beyond the tradition's own claims.
