The Cariyapitaka is a Pali canonical verse text in the Khuddaka Nikaya that retells thirty five Jataka birth stories grouped specifically by which of the ten paramis, the perfections a bodhisatta cultivates, each story illustrates. This record cites I. B. Horner's translation, published as part of The Minor Anthologies of the Pali Canon, Part III by the Pali Text Society. As a primary text it is authoritative for which story the tradition itself assigns to a given perfection and for what that story itself narrates, not for later commentarial interpretation of the story, which is a separate question the text's own commentary and secondary scholarship address.
