Colonial Aspects of Finnish-Namibian Relations, 1870-1990, edited by Leila Koivunen and Raita Merivirta for the Finnish Literature Society, Studia Fennica Historica 28, 2024, published open access via OAPEN, is a scholarly edited volume. Its strength is that it is peer reviewed academic scholarship, freely available in full, covering the Finnish Missionary Society's own Ovambo mission from 1870 through Finnish-Namibian relations to 1990. Its limit is precise and worth naming directly: it reaches only the Finnish half of Namibia's wider missionary history, and the separate Rhenish and German mission to the Nama and Herero peoples from the 1840s onward, including the churches' own 1971 political letter, is not covered here.
