Critical remarks on the find and interpretation of the Nebra Sky Disc (Gebhard and Krause)

Critical remarks on the find and interpretation of the Nebra Sky Disc, Rupert Gebhard and Ruediger Krause's 2020 peer reviewed article in Archaeologia Austriaca, challenges aspects of the Disc's now widely publicized find circumstances and astronomical interpretation. Its strength is that it is a peer reviewed critical intervention by specialists in the archaeology of the period, a genuine scholarly counterweight to the Disc's popular reception. Its limit is that it represents one side of an active scholarly disagreement over the Disc's interpretation; a reader wanting the fuller debate should also read the interpretation it is responding to.
