The Dasam Granth is a Sikh scripture traditionally attributed to Guru Gobind Singh, though the compilation itself is attributed to Bhai Mani Singh, published in its current form by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. Its value as a primary text is real for the portions in active liturgical use. Its limit is the reason for its tier two placement and is openly acknowledged within the Sikh tradition itself: authorship of large parts of the collection is genuinely disputed. The compositions used in Nitnem daily prayer and in the Amrit Sanchar initiation ceremony are the least disputed portions, and a claim resting on a more contested section should say so.
