Robin Rinehart's Debating the Dasam Granth, published by Oxford University Press in 2011, is the first book-length critical study in English of the Dasam Granth and of the long running controversy over its authorship, built on the Braj Bhasha and Punjabi text itself, the Punjabi and Hindi secondary literature, and interviews Rinehart conducted with Sikh scholars and leaders. Its strength is that it maps the dispute from multiple sides rather than arguing for one position, drawing on primary text and firsthand interview alike. Its limit, and the reason it is cited here as a map of the debate rather than a ruling on it, is that the authorship question itself remains genuinely unresolved among Sikh scholars, so a claim asserting a single settled authorship needs a source beyond this study, which does not offer one.
