Gaia Data Release 3

Gaia Data Release 3 is the European Space Agency's own published astrometric dataset from its Gaia space observatory mission, and its standing rests on that documented instrumental measurement process, precise parallax observation of stars from space, rather than on any institutional name alone. It is authoritative for the modern measured parallax distances to the fixed stars used in this collection, checkable directly against the published catalogue. Use it to establish a star's current best measured distance from Earth; it is not a source on any tradition's astrological or mythological association with a given star, a separate question this astrometric dataset does not address.
