History of CSICOP

This is the Center for Inquiry's own published history of the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal, CSICOP, appearing in the organization's own magazine, Skeptical Inquirer. As an institutional self-account it is the correct source for how the organization narrates its own founding and mission in the skeptical investigation of paranormal claims. Its limit is exactly that institutional voice, it is CSICOP's own account of itself rather than independent scholarly analysis of the organization's history or influence, so a claim requiring a critical outside assessment of the organization's methods or reception needs a source written from outside the organization.
