The Jahangirnama, or Tuzuk-i-Jahangiri, is a primary text, the Mughal emperor Jahangir's own memoir; the atlas records no publisher and no exact publication year because it survives through manuscript transmission from the emperor's own reign rather than a single dated modern edition. Its strength is that it is the emperor's own first person record of his reign, not a courtier's or later historian's account of it. Its limit is the ordinary one for any ruler's own memoir: it presents Jahangir's own perspective on his reign, and should be read alongside independent court chronicles where the claim matters.
