The Musee du Louvre's own collection database record for "Sceau-cylindre: scene d'intercession," an Akkadian-period marble cylinder seal, inventory number MNB 1905, purchased in 1880 from Ernest M. Benecke. The record gives the light green marble material, dimensions of 2.6 centimeters diameter by 3.6 centimeters height, the Akkad-period date range of approximately 2340 to 2200 BCE, and describes the god of the freshwater abyss with a heroic attendant, the two-faced Usmu introducing a personal goddess before the seal's worshipper owner.
