The official report of the Court of Inquiry the Punjab government convened on 19 June 1953 to investigate the anti-Ahmadi disturbances that had swept Punjab from February that year, chaired by Justice Muhammad Munir with Justice M.R. Kayani, universally known as the Munir Report. It heard testimony from the religious leaders and political figures behind the agitation and issued its findings on 10 April 1954, including the Punjab government's own casualty count from the disturbances and the martial law period that followed. It remains the primary documentary record of the riots and is the source every later account of the episode, official or scholarly, works from or against.
