Report of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran

This is the United Nations Human Rights Council's own Special Rapporteur report on the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran, hosted on the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights website and read here in its 2025 edition, part of a mandate renewed annually and reporting findings that include the continuing persecution of the Baha'i community. Its strength is that it is an international body's own formal record, prepared by an independent expert mandated by the Council and cross referenced against Secretary General reports and Council resolutions through 2025, rather than a single advocacy account. Its limit is that a Special Rapporteur's report reflects information the mandate holder was able to gather within a state that restricts outside access, so a specific claim about conditions on the ground benefits from checking it against the human rights organizations and the Baha'i community's own reporting the Rapporteur in turn draws on.
