Sokyo Ono wrote this introduction to Shinto as a Shinto priest and scholar, giving it a documented standing within the priesthood itself, covering kami, purification rites such as misogi and seasonal observances such as Setsubun and Shichi-Go-San from that dual practitioner and scholarly position.
