The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment, known as the Lamrim Chenmo, Tsong kha pa's foundational text translated by the Lamrim Chenmo Translation Committee, Snow Lion Publications, 2000, is a complete scholarly translation of the first volume of Tsong kha pa's systematic exposition of the Tibetan Buddhist path. Its strength is that it is a primary Tibetan Buddhist text in full scholarly translation by a dedicated committee of specialists. Its limit is that a translation of technical philosophical material carries the committee's own interpretive choices on difficult terms; a reader weighing a specific disputed passage should also consult the translators' own notes or the Tibetan text.
