L. Dow Balliett was an early twentieth century numerologist, and this 1908 book is her own foundational statement of modern numerological method, including the letter to number grid popularly, if inexactly, called Pythagorean and her identification of the master numbers eleven and twenty two as ones not to be reduced. As the tradition's own primary text it is the correct source for what that method actually states in Balliett's own words, rather than a later paraphrase of it. Its limit is exactly what its tier reflects: it argues from Balliett's own numerological conviction rather than from independent verification, so a claim about numerology's historical origins or effectiveness needs a source outside the tradition itself, and this record's publication year is given as commonly cited rather than independently confirmed.

Reliability Tier3
L. Dow Balliett's own 1908 primary numerological text published by L. N. Fowler, the tradition's own founding statement of method argued from her own conviction rather than independent verification, hence the tradition's-own-account tier. NotesA foundational text of modern American numerology and the usual point of reference for the letter grid running A through I as one through nine and then repeating, the grid popularly called Pythagorean. Relied on here as the tradition stating its own method. Publication year as commonly given; not independently verified in this pass.
