Yazidi Female Survivors Law, the Republic of Iraq's 2021 legislative text, is the Iraqi government's own statute recognizing and compensating Yazidi and other female survivors of Islamic State crimes. Its strength is that it is the primary legislative text itself, the government's own formal act of recognition. Its limit is that it is the legislative text itself, not an independent historical or scholarly account of the Yazidi genocide it responds to, which needs separate scholarship.
