On 1 March 2026, Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the Harare Zimbabwe Temple, the first temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Zimbabwe and the church's ninth on the African continent. Announced on 3 April 2016 and broken ground on 12 December 2020, the temple in Harare's Highlands neighborhood is reported by the church to serve more than 46,000 Latter-day Saints in Zimbabwe.
