The chart of positions is a feature of modern numerology, systematised in the twentieth century, drawing the letter-to-number conversions from earlier gematric practice but organising them into a standard set of life-numbers that varies little between contemporary authors. The atlas describes each position, the calculation behind it, and the meaning assigned to it.

The interpretation of any given position draws on the qualities of the number that falls in it, treated in the number category, so the two categories are read together.
