Yellow Star is the eighth Solar Seal, yellow and therefore of the south and of ripening in Arguelles's rotation. Its stated triad is elegance as its power, beautifying as its action and art as its essence, and it is read in Dreamspell practice for artistry, harmony and proportion. It is also one of the seals where the underlying Maya sign has a strong and well-documented astronomical meaning, which the Dreamspell reading largely drops in favour of an aesthetic one.
In the Dreamspell tradition, Yellow Star, Solar Seal 8, is described as governing beauty, elegance and artistic refinement, built from Lamat's borrowed star imagery. Yellow Star belongs to the Dreamspell's Yellow colour family, alongside Yellow Seed, Yellow Human, Yellow Warrior and Yellow Sun, a group Dreamspell teaching glosses as "ripening." As with every seal, this reading is Arguelles's own late-twentieth-century construction, not the sense Lamat or Q'anil carries within the authentic Tzolk'in tradition.
