Yellow Warrior in the Dreamspell Scheme

Yellow Warrior is the sixteenth Solar Seal, yellow and of the south in Arguelles's rotation. Its stated triad is intelligence as its power, questioning as its action and fearlessness as its essence, and it is read in Dreamspell practice for enquiry, courage and the willingness to challenge. The name is a coinage; the underlying Maya day has nothing to do with warriors, and this is another of the seals where the Dreamspell name will mislead anyone who takes it for a translation.

In the Dreamspell tradition, Yellow Warrior, Solar Seal 16, is described as governing intelligence, fearlessness and the questioning mind, terms not derived from Cib's borrowed owl and ancestor imagery. Yellow Warrior belongs to the Dreamspell's Yellow colour family, alongside Yellow Seed, Yellow Star, Yellow Human and Yellow Sun. As the overview of this system notes, Warrior is one of the small number of seal names, alongside Wizard and Skywalker, that replace an attested Maya meaning outright. Its Dreamspell wavespell is the sixteenth of twenty. As the overview of this system already notes, Warrior is among the small number of seal names, alongside Wizard and Skywalker, that replace Cib's attested Maya meaning outright with an unrelated modern gloss rather than adapting or translating it.
