This article records tradition as it has been passed down and reported. Its sources are not yet part of the atlas's verified catalogue.
The Juxtaposition Cross of Innocence is named here for Gate 25 and Gate 46, a universal love exposed ahead of a love of the body. Its first article reads Gate 25 as an innocence that places universal love above any particular attachment, now the more exposed gate, and Gate 46 as love of the body together with a knack for arriving in the right place at the right time. What it does not trace is where the four gates sit on the wheel itself, the Human Design mandala's division of its sixty four gates into four Quarters, and by that measure this cross draws one gate from each of the four.
Gate 25, the personality gate here, falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind. Gate 46, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding. Behind them, Gate 58 falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation, and Gate 52 falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form.
So the impersonal love and the bodily love the first article reads on this cross's surface answer to the arcs of mind and bonding, while the restless urge to improve and the concentrating stillness beneath them answer to the arcs of transformation and form, the same four gates that also underlie the Left Angle Cross of Healing under both its orderings, and its own reversal, the Juxtaposition Cross of Serendipity, also draws on the same four arcs however its two pairs are assigned to personality and design. Four gates, four different Quarters, no pair sharing an arc: this cross draws its whole reading from every corner of the wheel's own purpose rather than concentrated in one.
