Left Angle Cross of Dominion (64/63)

The Left Angle Cross of Dominion is named for Gate 64 and Gate 63, the same pair that names the Juxtaposition Cross of Confusion, here read inside a different angle family. Human Design reads Gate 64, from Hexagram 64, Before Completion, as unresolved impressions working slowly toward a clarity that arrives on its own schedule, and Gate 63, from Hexagram 63, After Completion, as the pressure to question and look for the flaw before accepting a pattern. It belongs to the Left Angle family, read as transpersonal, a direction practitioners describe as answering less to personal choice than to what circumstance hands the individual, which is where the cross reads its name of dominion from.

Its design half is Gate 45 and Gate 26. Gate 45 sits in the Throat and is read as the gatherer, the voice of the one who holds and distributes a group's resources and speaks for it; elsewhere it pairs with Gate 21 in the channel of Money. Gate 26 sits in the Heart, or Will, centre and is read as the persuader, a willed salesmanship that can market and, unchecked, exaggerate; it pairs with Gate 44 in the channel of Surrender.

Carrying the same gates as a fixed Juxtaposition cross but inside a transpersonal, Left Angle reading changes what the pattern is understood to serve, a gathered dominion handed back by circumstance rather than a note simply held. The hexagrams are ancient; the pairing and the angle both belong to the modern system, dated to 1987.

What it does not trace is where the four gates sit on the wheel itself, the Human Design mandala's division of its sixty four gates into four Quarters, and by that measure this ordering draws one gate from each of the four.

So the confusion and the doubt the first article reads on this ordering's surface answer to the arcs of bonding and mind, while the gathered resources and the persuading voice beneath them answer to the arcs of form and transformation, the same four arcs the earlier ordering of Dominion also draws on however its two pairs are assigned to personality and design. With both arrangements in place, Dominion's two gate pairs share the same wheel wide spread, one gate from each Quarter regardless of order.
