Right Angle Cross of Rulership (26/45)

The Right Angle Cross of Rulership is named for Gate 26 and Gate 45. Human Design reads Gate 26, from Hexagram 26, The Taming Power of the Great, sitting in the Heart or Will centre, as the persuader, a willed salesmanship that can market and, unchecked, exaggerate; and Gate 45, from Hexagram 45, Gathering Together, sitting in the Throat, as the gatherer, the voice that holds and distributes a group's resources. It falls in the Right Angle family, and practitioners describe that group as the personal one, a direction shaped by what the individual decides.

Its design half is Gate 47 and Gate 22. Gate 47 sits in the Ajna and is read as a mind working over confusion, sometimes for a long time, until sense finally arrives of itself; it pairs with Gate 64 in the channel of Abstraction. Gate 22 sits in the Solar Plexus and is read as a social grace that flows or withdraws with the emotional wave rather than on demand; it pairs with Gate 12 in the channel of Openness.

So a chart carrying this cross persuades and gathers on its surface, while beneath it an unresolved mind waits on a grace it cannot command by will alone. Mirrored, the same four gates form a second Cross of Rulership; the same two gate pairs, with roles exchanged, also underlie a third ordering of this cross. The hexagrams are ancient; grouping four of them into one personal cross is the modern system's own construction, dated to 1987.

Gate 26, the personality gate, falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation. Gate 45, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form. Behind them, Gate 47 falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding, and Gate 22 falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind.

So the persuading will and the gathered voice the first article reads on this cross's surface answer to the arcs of transformation and form, while the unresolved mind and the conditional grace beneath them answer to the arcs of bonding and mind, the same four arcs the rest of the Rulership family draws on however its two pairs are assigned to personality and design. Mirrored, reversed or exchanged, every role arrangement of Rulership's two gate pairs shares this same wheel wide spread, one gate from each Quarter regardless of order.
