An engraving titled "Nimrod Deciding Where to Build the Tower," the opening plate of the portfolio "The Tower of Babel," made by Jan Collaert I after a composition by Jan Snellinck I and published by Gerard de Jode in 1585. It illustrates the Genesis 10 to 11 figure of Nimrod, the mighty hunter and founder of Babel, at the moment of choosing the site for his tower. Held today by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Drawings and Prints department, under accession 53.601.335(1), Harris Brisbane Dick Fund, 1953.
