Early Studies in Parapsychology at Duke

This is an institutional archival exhibit produced by Duke University Libraries documenting the early history of the Duke Parapsychology Laboratory, including its Zener card extrasensory perception experiments and researchers such as J. B. Rhine, Louisa Rhine and J. Gaither Pratt. Its strength is direct institutional access, Duke holds the laboratory's own papers and can document its formation, personnel and early experimental design with archival authority. Its limit is that it is a historical and archival account of the laboratory's existence and activity, not an independent scientific assessment of whether the experiments' results hold up, so a claim about the actual validity of Rhine's findings needs the separate statistical and methodological literature that later examined them, not this institutional history alone.
