An official teaching statement from one autocephalous Orthodox jurisdiction, the Orthodox Church in America, not a pan-Orthodox synodal act, the same honest caveat this project already applies to this body's ordination-practice-detail fact under a different claim. Used here as representative of the position widely held across Orthodox jurisdictions, not as a claim to speak for all of them.
Notes
Cited for Eastern Orthodoxy's marriage-position and its detail: the sacramental, monogamous ideal, opposition to divorce, and the pastoral economy permitting up to three total marriages.
